Abstract: UML, the Unified Modeling Language, is the synthesis of the notations of the most prominent system modeling techniques. Although it may suffer from the 'kitchen sink designed by committee' syndrome, it is powerful and gaining widespread acceptance as the de facto system modeling language. Rational Rose is one of the oldest and most widely used graphical system analysis and design tools.
Keywords: book review, software, Rational Rose, UML, Unified Modeling Language, analysis, design, object-oriented methods, visual programming, computer science.
